Dear Local MP

As my MP, you are going to be asked to vote on a large number of amendments to the Repeal Bill during its Committee Stage.

As you will know, the Repeal Bill is essential because it enables the UK to start to take back control of the powers we have given to Brussels since we joined the EU more than 40 years ago.

Theresa May in the Conservative Manifesto and Jeremy Corbyn in the Labour Manifesto have both promised to respect the result of the EU referendum. That means Britain must leave the EU's Single Market and the Customs Union. If we don’t, then we won’t take back control of our borders, laws, money and trade.

That is why I am asking you to back the referendum result and support the Repeal Bill by voting against any amendments that would keep the UK as a member of either the Single Market or the Customs Union or amendments that could delay or frustrate the government’s timetable to leave the EU on 29 March 2019. Most importantly, I am asking you not to support any amendment which would result in the Article 50 period being extended, or reversed.

The EU referendum was the biggest democratic vote in our history. Like many others I feel strongly that our vote must be respected and the Repeal Bill is an essential step to allow us to take back control from the EU. Please vote to respect the result.

Yours sincerely,
